With the spring selling season we would like to advise clients to enhance their chances of getting more buyers to look at their house by creating outdoor spaces that are attractive to buyers.
A nice yard creates a setting to reduce stress and enjoy family and pets while creating a host of additional benefits.

Here are five factors to keep in mind to attract a buyer for your home:

1. Put yourself in the buyer’s frame of mind,
then plant the right plants accordingly. Perhaps the yard needs more shade for those hot summer days? How about turf? Sod is a nice way to add value for pets and kids to play as well as for entertaining.

2. We have lived here for over 20 years we know what plants to plant. Call us and we will help.
We can help you select climate-appropriate plants that will thrive with minimal maintenance and care. Also consult the USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map to determine which grasses, shrubs, and trees are most likely to succeed in a specific location.

3. We advise you to think of families with pets.
More families are including pets in their lives so consider animal’s needs when planting. We are friends with a great sod company who will give you advice on the proper grass to withstand pet traffic. To understand dangerous plants to pets download the ASPCA’s list of poisonous plants.

4. Attract more bees and birds which are great pollinators.
A wonderful habitat is essential for pollinators (bees, butterflies, and birds) and other wildlife that rely on backyard plants for food and shelter. Planting flowers that are rich in pollen will allow these beneficial creatures to help you create a vibrant environment that is good for everyone and is something buyers will really appreciate.

5. Staging the Yard.
You really want to show how the buyer can see themselves in your yard and how they may enjoy it outdoor tables that look like they are ready for dinner guests, having a barbecue grill set up, and other touches that show people can “live” in the space.
